[Article on the Art of Poetry, about a column in length.
After an introduction of 14 lines, the following, and then
scraps and couplets throughout.]
A DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENING.
Let vesper then pursue the purple light,
And lead the twinkling glories of the night,
The moon must rise in silver o'er the shades,
Stream through your pen, and glance along the meads.
. . . [21 lines]
  Our next quotation is an ingenious quibble upon the word
feet, with a very pretty couplet to the tune of a Pair of
Shears.
  On tuneful feet let languid ivy crawl,
  And in poetic measure scale the wall;
  While the sharp shears return a clipping sound,
  And the green leaves fall quiv'ring to the ground.
